“MESHELLE” SIGNED to Kinkead Entertainment Agency! NYC

Bob Kinkead, CEO

As one of the premier booking agents in the entertainment business, Bob Kinkead has been responsible for putting many of entertainment’s biggest names in front of the public. It’s something that he’s excelled in for over three decades, and he brings that knowledge and experience with him as he begins a new chapter in his career with The Kinkead Entertainment Agency.

Kinkead began his career in 1982 working in the Big Apple at Spotlite Enterprise. He worked with such acts as Blood, Sweat, and Tears as well as the Broadway road show Beatlemania. During his time there, he also was responsible for putting a pair of comedians in front of the public who would go on to become the most iconic careers in the history of television – Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld.

As the stock of his clients rose, so did Kinkead. In 1987, he became an agent and VP for The Jim Halsey Company. It was there that Kinkead got his first taste of working with many of the biggest names in Country Music, such as Hall of Famers Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette, and Reba McEntire. He also was responsible for continuing the amazing touring success of superstars such as The Oak Ridge Boys, The Judds, and Dwight Yoakam.

Kinkead moved on to the William Morris Agency in 1990, and has carved out one of the most successful careers in the business ever since, with opening the office of The Agency For The Performing Arts (APA), WBA Entertainment, Buddy Lee Attractions, Paradigm Talent Agency, as well as his own company, The Kinkead Entertainment Agency. One of his biggest success stories has been bringing the comedy of Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry The Cable Guy to audiences across the nation. Kinkead will continue to foster the career dreams and goals of comedians and artists, Bill Engvall, Ray Stevens, and Kyle Cease, teen pop You Tube star Macy Kate, social media platform Teenhoot, Country band Chasin’ Crazy, and Greg Hanna.

For over thirty years, Bob Kinkead has been one of the movers and shakers within the industry. He will continue to use that passion, determination, and experience to move forward with his own company, The Kinkead Entertainment Agency.

More about Harlan Halper

Harlan Halper, Agent

After a successful career in executive search and recruitment process outsourcing spanning over two decades, Harlan Halper decided to follow his passion for comedy – channel his inner “comedian” – and move into the entertainment industry. Now, 12 years later, his entertainment experiences have focused on live event booking, talent buying, event promotion and marketing, venue operations, box office operations, and food & beverage management.

In 2003, Harlan co-founded, built, managed, and operated Comix Comedy Nightclub, a 14,000 sq ft venue in New York City. In addition to all club operations, he was responsible for talent buying and programming for an 11 to 12 show-per-week schedule. While predominantly a headline comedy nightclub (that booked numerous artists for their first NYC headline weekend including Aziz Ansari, Donald Glover, Jo Koy, Anjelah Johnson, Craig Robinson, John Mulaney, and Nick Kroll), Comix presented stage productions such as the Drama Dept’s, The Cartels (written by Douglas Carter Beane), music performances such as Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts, hosted TV tapings including This is…Mandy Moore for the Oxygen Network, and hosted cooking demonstrations during the New York Food & Wine Festival (2008-2010) by Food Network chefs/personalities including Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, and Alton Brown.

In 2010, Harlan negotiated a lease with Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Connecticut to open a Comix Comedy Nightclub in the Grand Pequot Tower. Along with that lease, he structured an exclusive comedy booking/promoting agreement for Comix at both the Fox Theatre (1,325 seats) and the MGM Grand Theatre (3,959 seats).

Since 2011, he has been booking and buying talent for Big3 Entertainment/Bill Edwards Presents, principally for St. Petersburg, Fl located venues – the Mahaffey Theater (2,031 seats), The Palladium (800 seats), and The Club at Treasure Island (250 seats).

In 2012, Harlan created Downstage Entertainment, a concert promotion and talent booking company that has presented live events in theaters and performing arts centers around the country with talent that includes Ralphie May, Tracy Morgan, Artie Lange, Bill Maher, Jim Breuer, and The Midtown Men, to name a few.

A consummate relationship builder and developer, Harlan is thrilled to be joining Kinkead Entertainment to establish a New York City presence for the agency in, arguably, one of the two locations best known for comedy in the United States. He looks forward to working side-by-side with Bob Kinkead to build the Kinkead Entertainment Agency roster of comedians by continuing Bob’s history of work ethic based on integrity, trust, loyalty, perseverance, dedication, and determination on behalf of clients.
